Their second daughter Kathleen was born in 1936 at Perth, so Albert also left the land and settled in Perth. Over the years prior to the Second World War I spent lots of holidays at Uncle Alberts; Mavis and I where once great friends. Uncle Albert had an unusual hobby for a man, he was renowned for his wonderful embroidery. He was taught while convalescing from wounds he received in France during the First World War. 1st daughter Mavis was born at Karradale April 1929; I married Peter James and sailed to England early 1946. I never met up with any of this family again until our 1st Oakes family reunion. |
