Harald (Pic) Gordon Oakes
Born 10th March 1907 Sydenham London
Died 17th June 1975 in Perth.

Harald Married Sylvia Helen Stewart, born 31st May 1911 GinGin WA. Died 11th February 1999 in Maylands.

Harold and Sylvia were married at St Alban's church Highgate on the 1th June 1937, it is recorded that Pic had land at the Group 38 McLeads Creek and that he earned a living blowing stumps out of the ground. This work resalted in the loss of an eye.

It is not know to us if he walked off the land at the same time as his Father. They lived in Claisbrook Road, I remember our visits with fomd memories and it was from Uncle Pic's home that I departed for England. I do not know if any of his family remember us.

I know Uncle Pic was a rigger on the building of the Royal Perth Hospital, Peter and our son John visited them some years later; but, I never went back until I was gathering data for our 1st family reunion. To our joy Auntie Sylvia rememberd Peter and I, we spent some happy hours with her reminiscing. Sylvia stayed on at Claisbrook, she continued to live there untill shoprtly befor her death.

Pic and Sylvia had 9 children:

• Allen Ernest 1937;
• Robert Gordon 1939;
• Elizabeth Ruth 1940;
• Rodney John 1943, drowned in 1944;
• Pamella Margaret 1944;
• Ross Alfred 1946, drowned in 1953;
• Gail Patricia 1947;
• Trevor Lenard 1951; and
• Gary 1954 only lived for 36 hours.
